Today, multi-material mix (MMM) structures are widely adopted in premium vehicles. They combine high-strength steels, aluminum, and composite materials to optimize performance and weight. In contrast, GigaCasting uses large-scale aluminum die-cast components to replace multiple parts with a single casting, significantly reducing part count and assembly complexity.
In our webinar on August 26th, we put the focus on the benchmark and design study we have conducted in the MeGiCast project together with 19 global partners from the automotive industry on a front-end structure and a respective analysis of e.g. the production processes, costs, and CO2.
