Privacy Notice for the Twitter account of the FEV Europe GmbH (hereinafter FEV)

We use the "Twitter" service of Twitter International Company, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland (in the following “Twitter”) for operating our Twitter company profile. When you visit our Twitter profile, personal data, i.e. data that relates to an identified or identifiable person, is collected from you, regardless of whether you are logged in. In the following, we therefore inform you about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of your personal data by us in connection with the visit to our Twitter profile. You will receive information on how your data is used and about your corresponding rights.

II. Collection and processing of personal data and the nature and purpose of their use

1. Scope of processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

a) Contacting, interaction, commenting on contributions

We process your personal data, when you interact with us and other users and in order to inform you about our products and our company. We also process your data if you comment on our posts.  In doing so, we process the following of your personal data:

  • Date and time of interaction
  • Type and content of interaction (e.g. likes, direct messages, comments)
  • Profile name

We collect and process your personal data to respond to your interaction requests, for communications as well as for reporting on current topics of innovative vehicle design. 

The legal basis of the processing is Article 6 sec. 1 para. 1 lit f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the communication with you. In addition, our Twitter account is intended to enable you to contact us quickly and easily, as well as to inform you about current topics in innovative vehicle design. 

If you contact us via our Twitter account for the purpose of concluding a contract with us, Article 6 sec. 1 para. 1 lit b) GDPR is the legal basis for the processing. 

b) Evaluation for statistical purposes by Twitter Analytics

We use twitter Analytics on our twitter profile for the purpose of demand-oriented design and continuous optimization of our offer and to display target group-oriented posts. Through statistics, we receive anonymized information from Twitter about how successful our posts are or what interests our followers pursue. The categories of personal data processed in this process include for example age, gender, city, language and if applicable, further data provided by you.

In this respect, the processing of personal data is carried out under joint responsibility with Twitter according to Article 26 GDPR. We will provide you with the essential of the joint controller agreement upon request.

We process the personal data with the help of Twitter Analytics for the purpose of optimizing our offer and ensuring more effective communication with interested parties. 

The legal basis for the processing is Article 6 sec. 1 para. 1 lit f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in an improvement of our offer on Twitter.

2. Disclosure of your personal data 

Your personal data will be transmitted to or processed by the following recipients: 

Employees of our organization have access to your personal data to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned purposes. 

We only share your personal data with external recipients outside FEV if this is necessary to process or handle your request, if there is another legal permission or if we have your consent to do so.

External recipients may be:

a) Processors

External service providers that we use to provide services, for example in the areas of technical infrastructure and maintenance for our offering or the provision of content. These processors are carefully selected and regularly reviewed by us to ensure that your privacy is protected. The service providers may only use the data for the purposes specified by us.

b) Public bodies

Authorities and state institutions, such as public prosecutors' offices, courts or tax authorities, to which we have to transmit personal data for legally compelling reasons.

3. Third country transfer 

In any case, we only process your personal data in Germany and in the European Union.  Regarding the third country transfer by Twitter, we refer to their data protection information (https://twitter.com/de/privacy).


4.  Deletion of personal data 

In any case, we store your personal data only as long as this is necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes described above. In the event of your objection, we will delete your personal data unless the further processing is permitted under the relevant legal provisions. In addition, illegal content will be deleted.

5. Data subject rights 

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and you have the following rights against the controller:

Access: You have the right to obtain information about the personal data processed about you.

Rectification: You can request the rectification of incorrect data concerning your person. In addition, you can request the completion of incomplete data.

Erasure: In certain cases, you can request the deletion of your personal data.

Restriction of processing: In certain cases, you can request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.

Data portability: If you have provided personal data based on a contract or consent, you can request that you receive the data provided by you in a structured, common, and machine-readable format or that it be transferred to another controller.


Right to object         

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data based on Art. 6 sec. 1 para. 1 lit f) GDPR for reasons arising from your particular situation. In that case, your personal data will no longer be processed for these purposes, unless compelling legitimate interests for the processing can be demonstrated that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defense legal claims. 


Withdrawal of consent: If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of the processing of your data until the withdrawal remains unaffected. 

Enforcement of your rights: To exercise the aforementioned rights, please contact us at https://www.fev.com/contact-form or by post to the address indicated in paragraph I above. Please make sure that we can clearly identify you. 

Right of complaint to the supervisory authority: You have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you is unlawful.
