Intelligent test management is essential for increasing efficiency, transparency, and regulatory compliance in modern battery testing environments. In this thesis, a conversational AI agent will be developed as a front end to an prototype test management and scheduling framework. The agent will support engineers in defining, optimizing, and evaluating test campaigns by combining static information (e.g. regulations, testing standards, use-case descriptions) with dynamic information (e.g. bench availability, model availability, current test load).

• Conducting a literature and state-of-the-art review on AI-based assistants, test scheduling, and regulatory frameworks with or without focus for battery testing
• Analysing relevant regulatory documents, testing standards, and project-specific user requirements, and translating them into machine-readable rules and constraints for test planning
• Designing the system architecture of an AI chat-bot that acts as a natural-language front end for a test scheduler
• Implementing the AI agent with preference of using large language models (LLMs) including interfaces to data sources such as test bench calendars, model repositories, and requirement databases
• Developing algorithms or workflows for test recommendation and automatic scheduling under static and dynamic boundary conditions (standards, priorities, availability, cost or time constraints)
• Comparing the AI-based results with a baseline conventional optimisation-based scheduler and defining quantitative evaluation criteria (e.g. utilisation, waiting time, deadline adherence, compliance with constraints)

This master’s thesis presents the development of a Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) cockpit system using open-source tools and a Linux-based embedded platform, integrated with dSPACE simulation environments to test automotive HMI and ADAS functions. The system captures realistic driver inputs (steering, throttle, brake, gear) and connects them in real time to a dSPACE HIL setup, enabling closed-loop simulation of vehicle systems and driver behavior. Key focus areas include accurate emulation of cockpit components, real-time data exchange, and a Linux GUI for feedback and HMI prototyping. The project also tackles integration, timing synchronization, and interface standardization challenges. By combining open-source development with dSPACE simulation, this research provides a scalable, cost-effective solution for human-centered ADAS and HMI testing, supporting safer and more intuitive vehicle design.

The growing demand for electrical energy due to trends like the electrification of transportation and heating as well as the emergence of power-hungry data centers will require a multitude of low-carbon power sources in the future. Besides the well-known and established sources of renewable energy like wind, solar and biomass, nuclear energy might also play an increasing role in meeting the rising power demand of the future.

While some technologies like small modular nuclear reactors or nuclear fusion might be held back by a lack of technological maturity, others might be more mature, but less incentivized politically, such as conventional nuclear fission plants.

To gain a holistic understanding of these potentially relevant sources of power, this thesis should seek to identify the potentially available technologies, evaluate them based on technical, economic and environmental criteria and investigate suitable applications for the most promising identified technologies. 

In this thesis, an AgentOps/LLMOps pipeline will be designed and implemented to support engineering process agents with expert-in-the-loop feedback. The work addresses the challenge that current generative-AI agents in systems engineering (SE) — used for tasks such as requirements derivation, test-case generation, and subsystem decomposition — often produce inconsistent or untraceable outputs when deployed as black boxes. The pipeline will embed domain experts into iterative feedback loops, capturing their corrections and context, and using that feedback to selectively adapt the system. The approach will operationalise both forward flow (methods/data → agent output → user feedback → iteration) and backward flow (user feedback → classification/context engineering → selective LLM adaptation/test-update), minimising unnecessary retraining and focusing on context engineering and selective adaptation.

The main tasks of the thesis include:

• Conducting a literature and state-of-the-art review on MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps, with focus on engineering process agents and expert-in-the-loop systems.
• Designing and implementing an open-source AgentOps/LLMOps pipeline tailored for SE use-cases.
• Empirically comparing adaptation strategies (context engineering, parameter-efficient fine-tuning, hybrid) on two SE tasks: (a) requirements derivation for subsystems, (b) test-case derivation from requirements.
• Measuring precision/recall, semantic correctness, expert corrections per iteration, and cost-benefit metrics.
• Quantifying the value of expert feedback in iterative agent improvement.
