From semi-solid-state batteries, range extenders and electrolyzers to humanoid robots: FEV is showcasing its innovative strength at the Aachen Colloquium

Aachen, October 2025 – From 6 – 8 October, the international mobility industry will meet at the 34th Aachen Colloquium for Sustainable Mobility at Eurogress Aachen. FEV will contribute to the conference program with seven technical presentations and will also exhibit at the accompanying trade show. With a wide-ranging portfolio covering robotics, software, battery technology, innovative lightweight construction, and zero-emission powertrains, the company will be presenting different perspectives on the sustainable mobility and energy supply of tomorrow.
Advanced robotics for efficient development processes
A particular highlight at the booth is a humanoid robot that FEV is using to showcase its expertise in the field of advanced robotics. Humanoid robots, in combination with corresponding AI applications, are set to become increasingly important in development, production, and service in various industries, such as the automotive industry, and will significantly improve process efficiency. FEV works with its customers to identify potential applications and develop appropriate solutions.
“By applying innovative technologies, we provide our customers with the best possible support in optimizing their processes and products,” said Dr. Patrick Hupperich, President and CEO of FEV Group. “In the field of advanced robotics, we are the first service provider worldwide to offer both technological and strategic consulting expertise.”
SOVD-demonstrator
In the field of software development, FEV is presenting a demonstrator for Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics (SOVD). Whereas diagnostic and maintenance information for vehicles previously had to be read out in the workshop via the traditional OBD interfaces, with SOVD this data can be transmitted flexibly through modern, connected interfaces – even remotely via the cloud. This makes diagnostics faster, more secure, and more efficient.
Global networks for powerful and forward-looking drive solutions
With the Mahindra BE6e, FEV is presenting a series-production passenger car that uses the jointly developed AMAL battery. It is available in two versions — 59 and 79 kWh — and offers high energy density, short charging times, and compliance with the highest safety standards. FEV is also showcasing the semi-solid-state battery (SSSB) from Taiwanese manufacturer ProLogium. Together with its partner, the engineering service provider has integrated these globally unique cells — featuring a new format and exceptional energy density — into a comprehensive battery concept. Both examples show how international battery partnerships can accelerate market ramp-up.
Efficient drives for passenger cars and heavy goods vehicles, innovative technologies for hydrogen production
In the field of sustainable powertrains, FEV is also demonstrating its decades of expertise with new range extenders for passenger cars and commercial vehicles as well as a newly developed generator for passenger car applications. These systems significantly increase the range of battery-powered vehicles. The company will also present a cylinder head for a heavy-duty hydrogen combustion engine and various bipolar plates for fuel cells. Hydrogen-based drives provide a significantly better payload-to-range ratio for freight transport than battery drives. With its technologies for both energy sources, the engineering service provider demonstrates how diverse systems can complement each other in the energy mix of the future.
In the area of hydrogen production, FEV continues to expand its service portfolio and will showcase an electrolyzer using anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology at its booth at the Aachen Colloquium. This technology eliminates the need for rare metals such as platinum or iridium, offering both ecological and economic benefits. The compact and scalable module generates around 500 liters of hydrogen per hour at an electrical power input of 2.4 kW.
The focus of booth 3 at Eurogress is also reflected in the conference program: In their technical presentations, FEV experts will provide insights into current developments in robotics, software, battery, and drive technologies.
