FEV optimizes software and testing solutions organizational structure
Dr. Martin Rebbert assumes position as global head of newly established business unit. Dr. Jürgen Dohmen is responsible for the European business.
International engineering service provider, FEV, has reorganized its software and testing solutions activities. The new business unit, named “Software and Testing Solutions,” will promote the development and marketing of software and hardware products throughout the FEV Group. In this context, Dr. Martin Rebbert has assumed worldwide responsibility as a Group Vice President and will report to the COO of the FEV Group Holding GmbH, Dr. Ralf Marquard. The European activities of the new business unit will be headed by Dr. Jürgen Dohmen.
“Our systematic road-to-rig-to-desktop approach, in which crucial steps of development and validation are being transferred to the test bench or even to computer simulation, make a separation of software and testing hardware obsolete,” explains Professor Stefan Pischinger, President and CEO of the FEV Group. “As a consequence, we decided to bundle our Group-wide development and marketing of software and hardware products. Following the successful integration of D2T’s products and know how into the FEV Group in 2015, this realignment is the next milestone along the successful course of FEV Testing Solutions.”
Following various positions as a department manager of dynamics in FEV’s mechanics division and subsequently as director of business development for the Chinese market, Dr. Rebbert became the global head of software in the FEV Group Holding GmbH in April 2016. With the bundling of software and testing solutions activities into a single business unit, he will now take on full global responsibility for the business unit. Dr. Jürgen Dohmen also looks back on a long career at FEV that has spanned more than two decades. Most recently, he headed up the base engine development department within the gasoline engines business unit.
“Every day, our worldwide development teams generate new methods and techniques that make their work faster and more reliable. One of the main responsibilities of the FEV Software and Testing Solutions business unit is to integrate these approaches in our product lines to provide our customers with optimal products and services”, explains Dr. Martin Rebbert. “The combination of simulation, test, and data management software with our highly accurate and robust test systems is consistent with our philosophy of combining virtual and physical testing into a holistic approach.”
