  • As a lead engineer fuel cell system (m/f/d), you will play a major role in system development in demonstration and series projects. You will be involved in the projects from the initial concept to the build-up and testing of the fuel cell systems.  In this role, you will independently improve our development processes to solve complex system engineering problems. The lead systems engineer is the central technical link to the other development teams (controls, design, E/E) and ensures the technical exchange of information.

    The following tasks await you: 

    • Requirements management for fuel cell systems from the cell level to the entire system
    • Derive and create specifications for stacks and auxiliaries (balance of plant)
    • Develop and implement concepts for fuel cell system functionality based on customer requirements, system modeling and benchmarks
    • Design system process flow diagrams (P&IDs), interface control diagrams, lead hazard, safety, and reliability analyses           
    • Develop concepts for the operational management of PEM fuel cell stacks
    • Perform and guide 0D and 1D fuel cell system simulations and maintain interface with powertrain simulations
    • Lead the development of Design Validation Plans (DVP) and associated methodologies (DVM) and guide engineers in the execution and documentation of required tests
    • Coordinate the implementation of test tasks in the test field and at external test facilities
    • Technical documentation of concepts, simulation, and test results
    • Responsibility for (sub-)project coordination and ensuring cost, quality, and schedule compliance
  • What you will do:

    • You perform the coordination of system requirements for complex systems (e.g. driver assistance systems, highly integrated electric drivetrains, vehicle dynamics systems, infotainment environments)
    • You present your newly acquired knowledge of product requirements in UML/SysML models
    • You always keep the "big picture" in mind and have in-depth discussions with experts
    • You present your results convincingly and accurately at the same time
    • You support ongoing MBSE projects, which include the introduction of Systems Engineering at our customers and in-house product developments
    • You specify validation test
    • You monitor and report test progress
    • You steer test laboratories
    • You plan material ready dates for test objects and test durations
    • You specify and review test bench setups
    • You commission tests
    • You specify test automation routines
    • You develop control units and printed circuit boards for e-drive appliactions (Schematics and layout)
    • You select electronic circuits and components
    • You simulate signal ciruits
    • You are entrusted with the comissioning and debugging of printed circuit boards and systems
    • You specify and conduct component and system measurements
    • You report simulation and measurement results to customers
    • You provide test bench and leboratory validation support
    • You go on business trips to customers abroad
  • - Preparing 3D models and 2D technical drawings of various mechanical systems / components

    - CAD Design (Pro-E, Catia V5, Siemens NX) of components, functional systems, 

    - Preparing design documentation

    - Carrying out research and development in the area of design solutions

    - Carrying out basic engineering calculations related to designed elements

    - Carrying out ongoing tasks related to ongoing project activities

    - Good level in both general technical knowledge and technical documentation.

     

     

  • You will be responsible for the definition and costing of technical batches for a test bench project in support of the Bench Engineering 

    Project Managers, or the "Commercial" or "Project Planning" departments.

    You will provide support to the Project Managers for the definition, specification and technical implementation of the batches entrusted 

    to him/her according to his/her technical skills/sensibilities (electrical and/or aeraulic and/or fluidic and/or climatic and/or safety and/or  utilities and/or installations, etc.).

    • In the pre-sales phase:

       

      • You propose, describe and cost the technical packages that best meet the customer's specifications (in support of the Bench  Engineering Project Manager, the Pre-sales Project Manager or the Sales Department)

    • In the Project phase:

       

      • You participate in the drafting of the Functional Analysis for the lots for which you are responsible 
      • You will be responsible for the definition and technical management of the batches entrusted to you: 

         

        • Design, sizing, drafting of notes, participation in technical meetings
        • Participation in the drafting of the acceptance booklet
        • Drafting of technical specifications for subcontractors and the technical alignment of their offers; 
        • Technical follow-up of the subcontractors concerned
        • Support for the technical acceptance of subcontracted batches, in the workshop and on the client's site
        • Follow-up of the assembly/tuning service on site if necessary, independently or in collaboration with the Site Manager
        • Support for technical acceptance on the customer's site within its scope
        • The production of documentation and formatting for the overall file by the Project Manager

      • You will participate, if necessary, in working meetings with the client on the scope of his lots
      • You will report to the Project Manager any problems that call into question the quality, deadlines or costs
      • You validate the technical progress of the lots (verification of hours clocked in, receipt of external services)
      • You participate in the technical capitalisation of your scope for sharing with the whole team

    • You will be responsible for the following tasks

       

      • Work under the functional and technical responsibility of the Bench Engineering Project Manager or the Global Project Manager
      • Referent on his batches towards customers and suppliers
      • Works as part of a team and/or in consultation with all staff
      • Respects and ensures compliance with the rules defined in the quality system

         

  • Reporting to the Commissioning Coordinator within the FEV STS services department, and working closely with a technical  consultant, you will be responsible for commissioning installations and deploying our products and solutions on our customers' sites. A financial bonus is provided for this position.

    • Prepare commissioning assignments in collaboration with the Commissioning Technical Coordinator and the technical referent.
    • Apply the commissioning rules issued by the Product Department or the Applications team.
    • Adapt your performance in terms of time, action and travel to the contractual limits between FEV STS and the customer. 
    • Ensure the reporting of your actions to the relevant managers (Technical Coordinator and Technical Referent). 
    • Inform the technical manager (Technical Referent, line manager and/or Project Manager) of any actual or potential drift in the service (technical scope, time).
    • Acceptance of the product with the client according to the control and validation points defined in the specifications or the product specifications.
    • Participate in writing the feedback report with the commissioning manager.
    • Validate your intervention with the customer by means of an intervention sheet or an acceptance book, or any other means 
  • You will be working in an environment consisting of 16 battery banks (cells and modules) in the process of being accepted. 

    Your mission will be as follows : 

    • Technical assistance on FEV test facilities (MORPHEE and FLEXLab)
    • Development and/or modification of MORPHEE test procedures
    • Development of MORPHEE cycles and continuous improvement of existing ones
    • Addition of new equipment / components to the bench / maintenance
    • Installation and deployment of new software versions
    • Drafting of support documents for bench operation / capitalisation
