      • Pre-Design and electromagnetic design of electric motors (2D/3D FEM)
      • Mechanical simulation (3D-CAD, FEM/FEA) 
      • Thermal design and simulation (3D-CAD, CFD, FEM/FEA)
      • Hardware  build-up, commissioning and testing

     

    • Define and design automotive software architecture for safety-critical software in collaboration with systems and software engineers
    • Development of requirements for safety-critical embedded software systems
    • Review of requirements and software architecture for safety-critical software
    • Definition and improvement of development processes for safety-critical software
    • Definition of verification and validation activities for safety-critical software
    • Proactive handling of support activities in the context of safety-critical software development, like e.g. tool classification and qualification
    • Communication with the safety manager
    • Communication with suppliers
    • Collaborate with other software architects to manage complex embedded systems
    • Design and cordinate the Software Over the Air functionality for the complete vehicle.

    • Specification of security related requirements for automotive controllers, including both hardware and (basic) software related requirements
    • Design, implementation and verification of security related software components mainly using (embedded) C
    • Handling of suppliers with respect to timing, deliverables, quality etc.
    • Technical discussions with customer and suppliers of security related topics

    Adaptation and configuration of the automation system controlling the powertrain test bench, according to customer requirements. Application and post-application support.

     

     

  • We are looking for a smart, automotive passionate candidate with strong engineering skills to join our team working on some of the FEV crucial projects. Depending on your qualification you can participate in one of our new numerical simulation projects concerning (1) cooling system and thermal management simulation, (2) vehicle simulation and powertrain concept layout or (3) combustion and calibration analysis. 

    • Your tasks depending on the project:

      • simulation of energy and heat flux distribution within complete hybrid and conventional powertrains
      • evaluation of longitudinal vehicle dynamics, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions
      • evaluation of combustion process efficiency

    • Development of numerical models in GT-Suite (optional: MATLAB/Simulink)
    • Preparation of reports and presentation of results for customers
    • Technical lead for e-motor activities at FEV
    • Electromagnetic analysis of motors
    • Thermal analysis of e-motors
    • Analysis and validation of designs with FEA calculations in both 2D and 3D
    • Characterize machine performance for basic sizing and performance estimations using analytical tools
    • Trade-off studies to identify motor topology
    • Contribute in customizing tool sets for motor analysis
    • Close cooperation with internal development departments, customers and suppliers
    • Internal and external presentation of project results
    • Support of acquisition work in the field of electric motor development
    • Feature or component responsible engineer for Body and Comfort topics
    • Specification of use cases, customer features and requirements
    • Alignment with and coordination of internal and external stakeholders (time schedule, feature rollout plan, interface definition, change management, reporting to management/customer)
    • Supplier management
    • Support of vehicle and test bench (HIL) testing activities
    • Release recommendation for feature/component
    • Participate in continuous improvement of existing functions, methods and processes
    • Work with the system engineering and functional safety teams to meet the end-user/customer objectives through a structured (model-based) system engineering approach
    • Feature or component responsible engineer for HMI/Multimedia topics
    • Specification of use cases, customer features and requirements
    • Alignment with and coordination of internal and external stakeholders (time schedule, feature rollout plan, interface definition, change management, reporting to management/customer)
