  • Hydrogen is becoming a crucial part of the mobility transition. To bring hydrogen-based propulsion to competitiveness hydrogen production needs to be expanded, prices need to decrease and supply chains need to be established internationally. This master thesis targets the evaluation of technical and economical potential of high voltage direct current infrastructure combined with local hydrogen production in the EU (and North Africa).

    Your tasks:

    • Demand-side and supply-side market evaluation
    • Technical design and economical calculation of an initial HVDC grid to link relevant supply and demand sites
    • calculation of average hydrogen production costs
    • develops and analyzes energy supply concepts for the intelligent mobility of the future
    • investigates the interaction of the power supply system with other vehicle functions and systems, e.g. in the field of autonomous driving
    • enables power supply systems for future driving functions and independently coordinates interfaces with other development areas 
    • spicifies diagnostic and power management functions to ensure the safety of the power system and thus enable automated driving functions
    • wants to be part of a young, dynamic and ambitious development team with a scientific background
    • may be interested in the possibility of a doctorate
    • conducts risk analyses according to ISO 26262
    • creates safety concepts in collaboration with technical teams
    • prepares the safety plan according to ISO 26262

    • develops products and engineering solutions in the area of hardware-related software and ECU hardware
    • leads the technical coordination of a cross-topic development team
    • creates publications
    • supports the international acquisition of projects 
    • executes security related testing activities within automotive software development projects
    • sets up and operates automated testing, e.g. coding guideline checks
    • executes quality assurance related activities, e.g. code reviews
    • takes on the functional verification of security related software components
    • conducts technical discussions with customers and suppliers on security-related topics

       

    • aligns system requirements of software-intense systems (e.g. driving assistance systems, highly integrated electrified powertrains, driving dynamics controls, infotainment applications)
    • designs system and software architectures according to established architectural design patterns
    • models requirements and architecture (dynamic and static) in UML/SysML
    • defines and retrieves suited quality indicators for architecture evaluation
    • takes on subproject lead tasks
    • provides technical support of acquisition of new projects
    • takes on the technical instruction of new project team members
    • supports consulting, project ramp-up and transfer of results (e.g. method implementation/training and vehicle commissioning) also on customer site 
    • supports development and automation of the embedded software toolchain for a premium OEM in Munich
    • implements and optimises the software development process
    • contributes to the programming of generic tools and the configuration and integration of commercial tools
    • supports the code generation and software integration of automotive embedded software in the domains Electrification & Powertrain, ADAS/AD and Connectivity
    • coordinates technical and organisational content with colleagues across locations
