Auburn Hills, Mich., May 23, 2013 – FEV, a leading developer of advanced powertrain and vehicle system technologies, announced today that the SAE Foundation’s Stefan Pischinger Young Industry Leadership Award was presented to Adam Timmons, Ph.D., Chrysler Group LLC, and Kaustav Sinha, Ph.D., Dow Chemical Co. FEV, Inc. president and CEO Gary Rogers made the announcement. The award was presented at the SAE Foundation annual banquet, held on May 22, 2013 at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan.
The annual Young Industry Leadership award, sponsored by FEV, Inc. is named for Prof. Stefan Pischinger. Prof. Pischinger is the president and CEO of the FEV Group, headquartered in Aachen, Germany. He is responsible for all of the activities within FEV’s global complement of business units. He also serves in a parallel role as the director of the Institute for Internal Combustion Engines (VKA) at the Aachen University of Technology (RWTH), in Aachen, Germany. The award is presented annually at the SAE Foundation banquet to promote careers in the engineering community by recognizing young men and women, ages 35 and under, who have achieved major accomplishments and show significant potential for leadership growth.
“As corporations, our very existence depends on an influx of highly educated engineers,” said Rogers. “We need to start by recognizing the success stories that we have and understanding what is going right. That’s the model that we must clone at every educational level and in the industry. We are extremely proud that the SAE Foundation recognizes Dr. Timmons and Dr. Sinha as the type of individuals that will sustain this industry for many years.”
