Electronics & Mechatronics
By focusing on customer needs, FEV has recently taken significant steps towards extending our area of operations include electronics and mechatronics. Based on our years of experience with complex systems such as electromechanical valvetrain assemblies, we have considerably expanded our electronic expertise with hybrid engine technology. In addition, we have broadened the categories covered from powertrain electronics to the entire vehicle electronics system. Our expanded range now includes categories such as engine management systems, hybrid control, transmission control, battery and energy management, safety models, system architecture, power electronics, electric machines and even fuel cell development. FEV also provides professional support with vehicle electronics and chassis electronics, such as active steering systems.
Electronic Systems play an important role in the safety, comfort and performance of every modern automobile today. FEV is committed to provide the services necessary to support this technology for our customers.
Besides the development of complete complex systems, vehicle integration has been expanded into a major part of our electronics services at FEV.
When it comes to actuators, sensors and control devices FEV has acquired a wide range of expertise with our own development and benchmarking programs, as it relates to actuators, sensors and control devices.
The number of functions and interconnections with other control units continues to grow, due to the rising complexity of that tasks that need to be performed.
The target of modern powertrain development is to meet the challenging and to some degree contradictory development goals within a short time frame.
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) is a methodology tool which is gaining increasing importance for testing a controller’s functionality and communication. FEV provides this methodology as a service, both at our own testing facilities as well as on site for our customers.
